The Story of Film Unleashed
A Passion for Filmmaking
From a young age, I had a passion for filmmaking. I grew up making short films and creating stop-motion Lego battles, always captivated by the power of storytelling. While many children dream of running off to Hollywood, I never shared that ambition. Instead, I admired my father, who served in the military, and I dreamed of following in his footsteps.
A Change in Plans
That plan took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with dyslexia and a B-12 deficiency. During my meeting with a recruiter, I was told, “You shouldn’t sign up. They’ll likely stick you at a desk job.” It was disappointing to hear, especially given the reputation of recruiters, who often do whatever it takes to get you to sign up.
An Entrepreneurial Spirit
Growing up, I also had an entrepreneurial spirit. By the time I was four, I wanted to start a donut shop. This ambition turned into reality when I was around ten years old, and I began making homemade donuts and selling them. I even created a logo and business cards! It was a fun experience, but living in a rural area and not being able to drive made it challenging to continue selling donuts. Eventually, I hung up my apron.
Returning to My First Love
As I transitioned away from the donut business, I returned to my first love: filmmaking. When COVID-19 hit, I saw local businesses struggling to stay afloat. I began helping them with ads and commercials, wondering if I could make them not only effective but also entertaining and classy. I wanted to create videos that would truly capture the essence of their brands, helping them stand out in a crowded market.
A New Beginning
With my lovely wife to provide for, I knew I had to work harder than ever. I launched Film Unleashed, driven by a desire to make a difference in my community. I saw this as an opportunity to glorify God through my work. Each project became a chance to showcase not only the businesses I worked with but also the incredible talent of Christian creatives. I wanted to create a safe space for them to use their skills to glorify God.
